Mt Hamilton - Lick Observatory Drive and Optional Lunch

Start location for the driving tour to Lick Observatory, Mount Hamilton, will be in the Starbucks parking lot at 8:30am. Upon arrival, the participants and their guests must check themselves in with the organizer. At 8:50am there will be a briefing on the tour with the whole group. At 9:00am the group will leave the parking lot and proceed towards Saratoga-Los Gatos Rd and enter the Hwy 17. From Hwy 17 we’ll switch to Hwy 280 S. The first stop for regrouping will be at Alum Rock Taco Bell restaurant. From Taco Bell we’ll continue on Alum Rock Ave towards CA-130 E/Mt Hamilton Rd. The next stop will be after 9.5 miles at Josef D. Grant County Park. From the park we will continue to the Lick Observatory at Mount Hamilton. At the top of the mountain we will spend 30 - 45 minutes to relax, check the restrooms. At this point the participants will have an option to drive back to Alum Rock Ave and join the group for lunch at Antipasto by the Rose Restaurant located at 3454 McKee Rd., San Jose, Ca. 95127, or to head home on their own schedule.

For those who are having lunch, there will be $10 collected at the restaurant from the members and the Club will cover the rest.
Non-member guests will be responsible for their own food and drink.
